Works with state agencies to create tools and drive resources toward community market-based solutions. Engage the social sector- individuals, non-profits, foundations- as well as businesses and government to develop policy which leverages human capital and financial capital to elevate community solutions. Develop partnerships with philanthropic and private sector stakeholders to create incentives which deliver better outcomes at lower cost.
Mr. Wilder has also served as Assistant Secretary of Education in Virginia, overseeing and managing the development of policies, recommendations and initiatives that define a broad, coherent vision for achieving the Governor’s education priorities. Pilot new approaches to strengthen and support state reforms, with specific areas of responsibility for financial literacy; prisoner reentry education and workforce development; 3 rd grade reading proficiency; early childhood education; and school and campus safety. Provide guidance to the 16 public universities, the Virginia Community College System, five higher education research centers, the Department of Education, and the state-supported museums.
