La Cocina VA Founder and CEO Patricia Funegra was featured in an article by Elevation DC as one of fifty innovative leaders under fifty that are transforming metro DC’s food system. The article highlighted La Cocina VA’s Bilingual Culinary Training Program that has so far allowed 18 students to graduate and obtain jobs in the food service industry and increase their knowledge of food safety and nutrition. The upcoming kitchen incubator project will expand on this and other programs to “create job opportunities and foster new small businesses”.
